(Spencer)– A traffic stop early this past Sunday in Clay county landed several people in jail on various charges.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy pulled over the vehicle for a speeding violation and reported the smell of an alcoholic beverage coming from it. The deputy also observed a marijuana vape pen. A search of the vehicle resulted in deputies finding marijuana, drug paraphernalia, cocaine, alcohol and nicotine products.
20-year-old James Watson of Allison, Iowa and 19-year-old Russel Bair of Otho were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance…marijuana, and minor in possession of alcohol and tobacco. Watson was additionally charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and was cited for speeding, no insurance and operating a non-registered vehicle. 18-year-old Spencer Bode of Cherokee was cited and released on charges of minor in possession of alcohol and tobacco. Watson and Bair were both booked into jail on cash or surety bonds of $1,000 each.
