City Of Spencer Inspecting Mailboxes

(Spencer)– While area road crews are getting snow removal equipment ready for another season, officials in Spencer have been conducting another operation. Mark White is that city’s Public Works Director…

“We do a little project that with some people it’s been a little critical at times, but we inspect mailboxes prior to the snow season. And why we do that is if your mailbox is just hanging by a thread it shouldn’t be eligible to be repaired from a snow plow going by and damaging it, knocking it off. So there wasn’t very many. So we send those letters out. We’re certainly not telling the folks you have to fix your mailbox; we’re saying if you want to be eligible to have your mailbox to be repaired from snow plow damage that we would certainly repair it if you chose to do that and then let us know.”

White made his comments as part of his update to the Spencer City Council at their meeting earlier this week.
