Event Next Week In Jackson Will Recognize Those Who Helped That Community During The Flood

August 01, 2024 Steve Schwaller

(Jackson, Mn.)– A special event next week in Jackson will be held in appreciation of those who helped protect that community during the June flood. Mayor Marcus Polz says Monday’s event will begin at 6:45 at Fendt Lodge and will include food and refreshments…

“One of the discussions became the idea of a barbecue or something like that, and we discussed possibly doing it in a little park, and then it quite quickly escalated just through communication working with the chamber and working with some local employers. AGCO, Nextera Energy Resources, they were wanting to donate for that cause, and AGCO offered us the Fendt Lodge. We’re expecting a few hundred people, at least we’re hoping to have several hundred people out there and just kind of take some time to go over the memories that we’ve built together, just thank them for their time and their volunteerism and just have a good time and enjoy some food with one another.”

Polz adds the event will also help the community as it continues through the recovery process.
