(Arnolds Park)-It’s Vettes in The Park this weekend. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The University of Okoboji Corvette Club will host their annual fundraiser with Vettes in The Park on Saturday.
Chairman Kevin Pernick says registration will take place Friday afternoon in Sanborn. “Friday is when we get together in Sanborn at Sampson Corvettes, the sponsor for the event. So, we have our opening events there. It’s a good place to get registered, it’s the place to buy tee shirts before the day of the event and it’s also a great place to check out a bunch of the cars.”
He adds that about 200 Corvettes will be on display on Saturday. “We start at 8 o’clock, that’s when we’ll start lining everybody up and we’ll have cars on Lake Street, we’ll have cars out on the grass, we’ll have cars all over the place. So, it’d be a great time to come out and check out cars, show off your car. Most Corvette owners love to share their cars. We all remember being little kids looking at beautiful cars, and I know that a lot of the car owners are very friendly and want people to enjoy them. So, come out and check out cool cars with nice, cool people.”
Vettes in The Park will run from 8 to 2:30 on Saturday and is free and open to the public.
