(Okoboji)– The playground at Speier Park in Okoboji will close to the public this coming Monday, July 22nd, to begin removal of playground equipment as part of a revitalization project.
City officials say the project will be done in three phases, with the equipment removal at the playground continuing through August 11th. The second phase, August 11th through September 14th, will involve site preparation, grading and other types of groundwork. The third phase, scheduled for September 14th and through the fall, will include installation of the new playground equipment and surfacing.
The pickleball, tennis, and basketball courts along with the shelter house will remain open during the project and won’t be impacted.
