Fiery Crash Injures Sanborn Woman

July 13, 2024 Steve Schwaller

(Alton)– A fiery crash early Friday on Highway 60 two miles south of Alton injured a Sanborn woman.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says 25-year-old Madison Borden was driving a 2005 Buick northbound when she lost control. The vehicle went into the median and rolled and started on fire. Borden was extricated from the vehicle by other motorists. She was taken to the Orange City hospital with minor injuries.

$5,000 in damage was estimated to the vehicle. The crash took place shortly after midnight.

Authorities say alcohol is suspected to be a factor. They add the crash is still under investigation.
