(Des Moines)– Governor Kim Reynolds announced today (Friday) three more northwest Iowa counties have been added to a Presidential Disaster Declaration. They include Buena Vista, Cherokee and O’Brien counties. Residents in those counties are also now eligible for individual assistance through the Federal Emergency Management Agency, or FEMA. It stems from severe storms, flooding, straight-line winds and tornadoes that started on June 16th, 2024 and continuing.
The FEMA Individual Assistance is already activated for Clay, Emmet, Lyon, Plymouth and Sioux counties.
