(Spencer)– City officials in Spencer say residents need to be weather aware, with even more rain expected later today (Monday) and tonight.
The National Weather Service says one to two inches of rain could fall across the region, with some areas maybe getting even more than that. While the amounts will be nowhere what they were June 21st, forecasters say that with the saturated ground, any new rain that falls is going to quickly run off. That could result in rapid rises on lakes, streams and rivers, many of which are already well over flood stage.
Spencer residents are being told to develop potential evacuation plans and be prepared. They say further details will be released should the additional rainfall push river levels to 16 feet.
