June 25, 2024 Steve Schwaller

(Undated)– Teams with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, or FEMA, today (Tues.) started visiting shelters and neighborhoods in Clay, Emmet, Lyon, Plymouth and Sioux counties. FEMA Disaster Survivor AssistanceTeams are working in coordination with state and county emergency management.

FEMA can provide money to eligible applicants for help with serious needs such as temporary housing, home repairs and other needs not covered by insurance. The teams help out with the FEMA application process to address immediate and emerging needs, along with providing updates on status of applications and referrals to community resources.

FEMA staff can be identified by their federal photo identification and FEMA clothing. Residents should ask for an official photo ID before providing personal information.
