(Milford)– Kiley Zankowski of the Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce tells KUOO news this year’s event will be held Saturday, June 29th with check-in beginning at 7:00 am at Florence Park in Milford and the ride itself starting at 9:00 am…
“We’re really looking forward to that event. It’s the 40th year this year and registration online does close on June 26th. You can register day of, on that Saturday, or even Friday night before the event, but we really encourage everyone to register in advance. There’s three awesome rides available: 25, 50 or 100 mile rides. So we encourage everyone to come on out and enjoy the fun.”
The registration fee is $35.00…
“That includes your bike ride. As long as we have shirts available registrants will get a shirt, and then there’s a barbecue afterwards in Florence Park from 1:00 to 4:00 which includes burgers, beverages, and live music.”
Zankowski says the proceeds will be split between several different local profits…
“Including emergency personnel, things like the Milford Fire Department, fire and rescue crews. It’s a really great cause as well, so we really encourage you to get registered and help those local non-profits.”
She adds the Okoboji Cycling Classic Campus Bike Ride typically has anywhere between 700 and a thousand participants.
