(Okoboji)-The Okoboji Summer Theatre is about to open for the season. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Okoboji Summer Theatre will open on June 25th with their production of Leader of the Pack.
Executive Director Ruth Ann Burke says they’ll kick off the season with a special fundraiser on Monday, June 24. “We are celebrating the 60s and Leader of the Pack by kicking off our season with our first-ever fundraiser gala, 60s theme, to celebrate with 60s appetizers, 60s drink of the night and inviting those who wish to come dressed in their favorite early 60s attire.”
She adds that there’s still time to register for the Boji Bantam Boot Camp. “We’re trying our first-ever musical theatre intensive for ages 12 and older, for kids who are interested in sharpening their skills and learning from some of our professional guests about movement, dance, vocal training, acting and all of it culminating in a showcase performance Saturday, July 13 at 10:30 a.m. We do have a generous donor who came forward to help support with some scholarships. So, several scholarships are now available. More about that is on our website, okobojisummertheatre.org“
