SL Protective Association Announces Plans To Restore Arch At Templar Park

June 14, 2024 Steve Schwaller

(Spirit Lake)– The Spirit Lake Protective Association is taking on a project to restore the iconic arch entryway at Templar Park on the southwest side of Big Spirit Lake. Association President John Smeltzer spoke recently with our news partner, KTIV, about the project…

“There really are only two structure here that remain from the original development of this property. One is the arch that we went through as we came into the park.”

Plans for the renovation include new paint, replacing woodwork, installation of replica iron gate and light fixture.

This year also marks a special milestone for the arch entryway at Templar Park as it was originally dedicated by The Knights Of Templar on June 25th, 1924.
