Schultes Wins Primary For Sheriff In Emmet County; Incumbent Supervisors In Clay County Post Wins

(Estherville)– Unofficial results from Tuesday’s Primary Election in Emmet county show Justin Schultes will likely become the next Sheriff in that county. Schultes received 438 votes while Jeffrey Merrill received 314. The incumbent isn’t seeking another term. Four people were seeking the Republican nomination for three seats on the Emmet County Board of Supervisors. Lisa Hansen received 525 votes, incumbent Tom Schumacher had 436 and Brandon Carlin received 434. Mike Pytleski received 327. On the democratic side, incumbent Todd Glasnapp was the only candidate on the ballot for the three seats.

In Clay county, incumbents Art Hamrick and Randy Swanson won their primaries for their seats on the Board of Supervisors. Hamrick received 691 votes; Swanson had 568. A challenger, Sharon Johannsen, garnered 475 votes.

Jeff Loring was the winner in the primary for the district 5 seat on the Osceola County Board of Supervisors, receiving 106 votes. Ed Jones had 63.
