(Spencer)– Construction continues on a new Emergency Department at Spencer Hospital. Hospital CEO Brenda Tiefenthaler says construction crews have been working around the weather…
“You can see the walls and the roof has been put on. The steel is going up. We still do have a crane outside there. The crane probably has about two weeks left of so if the weather would cooperate and then the crane would be pulled down and then there will start to be much more of the inside work and just the brick on the outside. We’re super excited about that. There have been a lot of delays in construction but that’s what happens. Substantial completion for that project is slated for probably the end of January or so which means we’ll go through a punch list and just do final touchings and then plan for a move. We probably won’t be in the new Emergency Room until the end of March of 2025, but we’re super excited.”
Tiefenthaler gave the update during Monday’s Spencer City Council meeting.
