(Worthington)- A weekend crash in Worthington sent two people to the hospital. The Minnesota State Patrol responded to the crash at 4:14 am on Saturday, when a 2011 Honda CXL, driven by Mitchell Conklin, age 38 of Elder, South Dakota, was traveling west on I-90. Another vehicle, a 2024 Peterbilt Semi, driven by Mitchell Young, age 43 of Redfield, South Dakota, was also westbound on I-90.
The two vehicles collided, and according to the online report, Conklin had alcohol in his system. He and a juvenile male passenger, age 9, also of Elder, South Dakota, were taken to medical facilities. Conklin was taken to Sanford Worthington with non-life threatening injuries, and the juvenile was taken to Sanford Sioux Falls with reported life threatening injuries.
The Worthington Police, Fire and Ambulance departments all assisted at the scene.
