IGL Chamber Continuing To Raise Funds For July 4th Fireworks Display

May 31, 2024 Steve Schwaller

(Arnolds Park)– The Fourth of July is now just a little more than a month away. Blain Andera of the Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce tells KUOO news fundraising for this year’s fireworks display over West Lake Okoboji is in high gear…

“This fun, family tradition of the fireworks on the 4th is something the Chamber has provided for for 40 plus years and we are looking to get some assistance from businesses and individuals in the area. If you love the fireworks we would certainly love it if you would give us a little donation to help pay for them.”

Andera says a donation of any amount is greatly appreciated…

“Everybody who donates $250 or more gets their name mentioned on the special KUOO radio live music montage as the fireworks are getting ready to roll out that evening. It’s easy to donate, you can just go to okobojichamber.com and click the fireworks tab and you can donate right on line with a card or you can certainly send a check to the Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber, P.O. Box 9, Arnolds Park, Iowa.”

He adds J & M Displays will once again be shooting off this year’s display…

“We work with Tal Allen and he does such a good job, you know. Golly last year when the barge blew up they worked so hard to get it ready to go again for us and it was, they’re just really good to work with and we appreciate the hard work that they do to put into this special show as well. We’ve got a show that’s going to be just a little bit larger than last year so you’re looking at almost a half hour worth of fireworks going up on the Fourth of July this year.”

Andera says the show will begin at 10:07 the evening of July 4th.
