Damage Assessments Are Underway After Queen II Becomes Unmoored In Strong Wind

May 22, 2024 Steve Schwaller

(Arnolds Park)– Officials are looking for any possible signs of damage to the Queen II after strong wind Tuesday evening caused the ropes that were holding the excursion boat in place to break. In a Facebook post, Arnolds Park CEO Jon Pausley says the Queen II wound up sidewise between two docks. He says crews with Arnolds Park and Clary Lake Service tried to do what they could to minimize any damage.

Pausley says they’re inspecting the Queen II today (Wed.) and would have more information once that’s complete.

The Queen II just came off an extensive renovation over the winter months and was just recently returned to the water.
