(Sioux Center)– A Hinton woman was arrested Friday after riding a freight train from Sioux City to Sioux Center.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says the woman, 46-year-old Shannon Heckler of Hinton, allegedly climbed aboard the train in Sioux City in an effort to get to her home in Hinton. Authorities learned Heckler was riding the northbound train after they received a 911 call from her. Sioux County Communications contacted the Burlington Northern-Santa Fe railroad. Crews managed to get the train stopped and Heckler was found on one of the cars.
She was arrested and charged with public intoxication and trespassing.
