Spring Fling Doggie Treat Event Coming Up Saturday In Milford

(Milford)– An event this weekend in Milford will be going to the dogs. The Humane Society of Northwest Iowa and the Milford Commercial Club will be holding their Spring Fling Doggie Treats on Saturday. Haley Dirks, Shelter Manager for the Humane Society of Northwest Iowa, says it will be going on from 2:00 until 3:00 pm Saturday at Memorial Park on 17th Street on the northwest side of Milford…

“We’re going to spread out 10 pounds of dog treats for dogs to come up there and find and gather.”

Dirks says the event is free but donations would be greatly appreciated…

“We’ll be having a donation jar there, it’s just a freewill donation. So if they want to donate to the shelter they are more than welcome to but it is not a necessity.”

She adds it will be a great opportunity to learn more about the Humane Society of Northwest Iowa…

“We’re finally getting dogs back in our facility after having some construction going on. We’re going to be able to bring some of our dogs down and be able to have them interact with the public and introduce them and hopefully get a couple of dogs going home as well.”
