(Spirit Lake) — Iowans concerned about the misuse of prescription and over-the-counter medications can take part in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day this Saturday.
Iowa’s Office of Drug Control Policy recommends Iowans clean out their medicine cabinets and dispose of any medications they no longer need. The collection in October netted 5,500 pounds of old, unused and unneeded meds.
There are over 400 permanent pharmacy and law enforcement drop sites open year-round, including one locally at the west entrance of the Dickinson County Courthouse.
