(Lakefield, Mn.)– A two vehicle collision Sunday at the intersection of Highway 86 and 720th Street just north of the Iowa/Minnesota border sent several people to the hospital.

The Minnesota State Patrol says it involved a 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by 46-year-old Shellie Williams of Round Lake and a 2007 PT Cruiser driven by a 17-year-old from Lakefield. Troopers say Williams had stopped to turn and the PT Cruiser was northbound when the collision occurred.

Williams, along with two passengers in her vehicle, a 17-year-old and one-year-old, were taken to Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake. The 17-year-old driver of the other vehicle was also taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare. All of the injuries were described as non-life threatening.

The collision took place shortly before 5:00 pm.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office along with ambulances from Lakes Regional Healthcare and Lakefield, assisted on the scene.
