Spencer Man Sentenced On Federal Drug Charge

April 18, 2024 Steve Schwaller

(Sioux City)– A Spencer man will spend more than 13 years behind bars after being sentenced Wednesday on a federal drug charge. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Iowa says 57-year-old Todd Williams of Spencer pleaded guilty November 1st, 2023, to a charge of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

It stems from a search warrant authorities executed on Williams’ residence in Spencer resulting in the seizure of nearly 2.7 pounds of methamphetamine and about $50,000 in cash. Williams wasn’t home at the time but officers saw him driving by. They tried to stop Williams, but he instead led them on a pursuit at speeds of up to 100 mph before being pulled over and arrested.

Williams had previously been convicted of conspiracy to manufacture and distribute methamphetamine in 2004.
