Annual Cleanup In Spencer About To Get Underway

(Spencer)– A citywide cleanup of Spencer is coming up April 20th-28th. Mayor Steve Bomgaars is encouraging individuals and service organizations to once again get involved this year…

“Letters will be going out from city hall to service groups, churches, schools, neighborhood groups and so forth to clean up public areas, to clean up your neighborhoods and things like that. Groups will be able to pick up bags at city hall and gloves and we also have the environmental trailer that is available for groups to use. So if you’re interested please call city hall and get your group on the list and we’ll have a list of those public areas.”

Bomgaars says they’re hoping to build on the program’s successes in past years…

“We’ve gotten a lot of the city cleaned up and looks good going into late spring and early summer.”

This marks the third year for the event.
