(George)– A two-vehicle collision Tuesday near George sent multiple people to the hospital.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says it happened at the intersection of 230th Street and Marsh Avenue near George. Deputies say 20-year-old Maximus Jones of Lake Park was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado southbound and 45-year-old Katrina Riemersma of Ashton was driving a 2019 Chevrolet Trax when the two collided in the intersection. Authorities say the Silverado then flipped onto its passenger side, with the Trax coming to rest in a field.
Three people were injured in the crash and were transported to a local hospital.
Jones was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and failure to wear a seatbelt. Both vehicles were totaled.
