(Estherville)– A ban on open burning in Emmet county has been lifted.
Emergency Management officials say moisture received over the past several days has been sufficient to allow for the ban to be lifted. It was implemented a couple of weeks ago out of concern of what was then a high fire danger.
Emergency Management Coordinator Travis Sheridan says they’ll continue to monitor the situation on an ongoing basis. He says even though the ban is being lifted, anyone planning to do any open burning should exercise caution.
