(Estherville)– A traffic stop earlier this month in Emmet county resulted in the arrest of a Lakefield man on drug charges.
The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy pulled over a vehicle shortly after midnight March 17th near Wallingford for an equipment violation and smelled marijuana. A further investigation turned up controlled substances and drug paraphernalia. It was also discovered the vehicle had expired plates on it.
A passenger, 35-year-old Jeremy Barnes of Lakefield, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance…marijuana…2nd offense; possession of THC vapes or edibles…2nd offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The driver was cited for expired registration.
