(Arnolds Park)-The Okoboji Blue Water Festival has announced the Headliner for this year’s concert. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Okoboji Blue Water Festival has announced X Ambassadors will headline the Festival Concert at Preservation Plaza August 10th.
Festival Co-Chair Greg Drees says, the multi-platinum trio has a new album coming out. “They do have a new album coming out early next month. This band came on the scene in 2009, and their very first album, which was entitled VHS, soared up the charts. Some of the singles off of that album, Renegades, which, if you’re unfamiliar with X Ambassadors, google them and play Renegades, you’ll recognize that very popular single, and another single, Unsteady, racked up 1.3 billion streams on Spotify. Subsequent albums just added to their fame. If you want to put a genre on them, I guess it would be alternative, but they kind of cross into various genres so we encourage music lovers of all ages to come and listen to this concert. It’s going to be a great live act.”
He adds that the opening act will be announced soon. “We will have an opening act at the concert, as well. We’re real close to booking that band. That’ll be another upcoming announcement.”
