(Okoboji)-The Dickinson County All School Show is on exhibit at Pearson Lakes Art Center. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Dickinson County All School Show is now available for viewing at Pearson Lakes Art Center.
Visual Arts Director Danielle Clouse Gast says over 300 works are on display. “We have Okoboji, Spirit Lake, Harris-Lake Park and Graettinger-Terril involved in this show that features all the way from kindergarten to 12th grade, and it has about over 300 works of art in this show that the art teachers pick out from the schools and bring to the Art Center to display and have on view through the month.”
She adds that there’s a wide variety of art on display. “A lot of variety of media, and one of the favorite things about this show, I think, is that it offers a glimpse into the outstanding things that are happening in our K-12 schools here in Dickinson County in those art rooms, and the art teachers that we have in this area. It really puts a spotlight on the young artists that are working and the creativity that we have and it makes for a wonderful show. We look forward to putting it on each year at the Art Center.”
She notes that the public is encouraged to view the show. “The Art Center is free and open to the public to visit and we actually are open late on Thursdays until 9 o’clock, otherwise our hours are Tuesday through Saturday 10-4, and this show will be up through April 13th. I encourage folks to visit. This means a lot for these students to have as many people visit the show and see what they do.”
