(Spencer)– Four teens were detained in a traffic stop this past weekend in Clay county after a search of a vehicle they were in turned up marijuana, nicotine vape pens and alcohol.
In a press release, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office says the 16-year-old driver admitted he had been drinking alcohol. A 15-year-old male was cited in Juvenile Court and released for minor in possession of tobacco; a 14-year-old female was cited into Juvenile Court for minor in possession of alcohol. A second 15-year-old male in the vehicle was cited in Juvenile Court for minor in possession of alcohol and possession of a controlled substance…marijuana. The 16-year-old driver was cited into Magistrate Court for speeding and violation of a graduated driver’s license and was cited into Juvenile Court for minor in possession of alcohol.
All four juveniles were released to the custody of a parent.
