March 12, 2024 Steve Schwaller

(Montgomery)– A Spirit Lake man was arrested on multiple charges at the scene of a fire Monday night in Montgomery. 19-year-old Caleb Crosby was charged with possession of a controlled substance…methamphetamine; person ineligible to carry dangerous weapons; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession or purchase of alcohol by a person under the legal age and two counts of interference with official acts.

A criminal complaint filed by the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office states that Crosby showed up at the scene of Monday night’s fire and allegedly interfered with firefighters as they were putting out hot spots. The deputy’s statement says Crosby refused to leave the area after being told several times to do so. It goes on to say that Crosby resisted law enforcement as he was being taken into custody, and that he was found to be in possession of a zip lock bag allegedly containing methamphetamine. The complaint goes on to say that Crosby was also allegedly in possession of brass knuckles and a glass pipe. He was booked into the Dickinson county jail.
