(Lake Park)– The next phase of a shoreline stabilization project is underway at Silver Lake at Lake Park. Mike Hawkins, a DNR fisheries biologist, says the work on this stage is taking place at Trappers Bay State Park and to the east…
Hawkins says they’re requesting people stay out of that area while the work is taking place…
About 4,000 feet of Silver Lake’s shoreline was stabilized in 2022. Hawkins says this phase will stabilize another 3,500 feet. He says it’s part of an overall project to improve water quality in Silver Lake. Hawkins says they’re also working with private land owners around the lake that have eroding shorelines. He says the Silver Lake Protective Association was awarded grant funding to assist in those efforts.
