(Spencer)– No one was hurt in a kitchen fire this (Sunday) morning at a residence in Spencer.
Firefighters were called to 1005 West 12th Street in Spencer a little after 6:00 am after getting a report of smoke in the home. Upon arriving firefighters discovered a fire in the kitchen oven. The quickly put it out using an extinguisher. Crews then ventilated smoke from the residence. The homeowner got out uninjured.
Fire damage was reported to the stove with smoke damage throughout the first level of the home.
Firefighters were on the scene a little more than a half-hour.
The Spencer Police Department and an ambulance from Spencer Hospital stood by on the scene as a precaution.
