(Spirit Lake)– Get ready for some temperature whiplash over the next 24 to 36 hours.
Temperatures will soar into record territory today (Mon.) as readings will climb to near 70 degrees. However, big changes lie ahead. Forecasters say a strong cold front will make its way through the region Tuesday, bringing some wind, a little snow, and falling temperatures with it. After our 70 degree readings today (Mon.), temperatures will plummet to around 5 degrees above zero by Wednesday morning, a swing of a good 60 to 65 degrees. Highs Wednesday will only be in the lower 20’s.
Forecasters say the cold weather will be short lived, however. Temperatures will quickly moderate once again with 50’s returning for highs on Thursday and 60’s to back up to around 70 for the upcoming weekend.
