(Spencer)– Multiple charges have been filed against a man who led authorities in Clay county on a high speed pursuit Tuesday evening.
Spencer police say it started shortly before 9:30 pm when an officer attempted to pull over a vehicle in the 900 block of East 12th Street in Spencer for a traffic violation. The driver refused to stop and took off at speeds near 100 mph, with the vehicle’s headlights turned off, evading officers.
The suspect vehicle was located a short time later by a Clay county sheriff’s deputy overturned in a ditch in the 3100 block of 230th Avenue. The driver, 20-year-old Adrian Frakes, was located a short distance away from the crash scene. He was taken into custody without incident.
Frakes was charged with possession of marijuana, eluding, driving under suspension, reckless driving, failure to use headlights when required, failure to maintain control, three counts of failure to obey stop signs, no insurance, and speeding. Frakes was booked into the Clay county jail on a $5,000 bond.
