(Arnolds Park)-There are some new things happening with The U of O Winter Games this weekend. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
There are a couple of events that have been expanded or added to the schedule for The University of Okoboji Winter Games this year.
Kylie Zankowski, Director of Membership and Events with Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber says more vendors have been added to the Food Truck Festival on Saturday. “The Food Truck Festival is back this year. It was there as well last year and we’re just excited to be welcoming some of the same food trucks and some new ones. So, you’ll have to head down to Lake Street in Arnolds Park and you can try some different cuisine while you enjoy the kites and the Polar Plunge. They will be there starting at 10 am and be there for the remainder of the day to get some food while you’re doing some winter games activities.”
She notes that a clean up day will occur on Sunday. “We’re doing a Community-wide Cleanup. So, our office will be open 10 am to noon on Sunday and then you can stop by, pick up a trash bag and we’ll send you to a specific location and help clean up the area. We really just want to keep the area cleaner than when everyone came to town and keep it that way once everybody leaves. Leave no Trace Behind, and so we just encourage everyone to, first of all, clean up after yourself throughout the weekend. Clean up after others, and then if you’re available, help us do the Community-wide Cleanup on Sunday.”
