(Jackson, Mn.)– An apparent drowning Sunday afternoon on a lake in Jackson county has claimed the life of a 23-year-old man.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says crews responded around 12:15 pm after getting a report of a possible drowning on Pearl Lake. Authorities say the victim was on a paddle board that became submerged. Two others were able to get shore safely.
The body of the 23-year-old victim was recovered following an underwater search that went on for two and-a-half hours. The body was recovered from about six feet of water. The name of the victim hasn’t been released pending notification of relatives.
The Lakefield Fire Department, law enforcement and paramedics, Jackson Fire Department, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and Arnolds Park-Okoboji Fire and Rescue assisted on the scene.
