APO Fire & Rescue Gearing Up For Annual Labor Day Auction

September 01, 2022 Steve Schwaller

(Arnolds Park)– Arnolds Park-Okoboji Fire and Rescue will hold a major fundraising event Labor Day. Chief Chris Yungbluth tells KUOO news they’ll be holding their annual auction Monday at 1:00 pm at the Barefoot Bar…

“All of the money goes toward the Lakes Area Fire Boat. We’re building a fund up to help with maintenance costs and then a potential replacement in the future and just so we don’t have to come back on taxpayers and rely on donations. We’d just be able to make that replacement as we build those funds up any way. Usually a pretty good time. A lot of good items that get donated. Our business partners have been phenomenal this year. We’ve got a lot of really nice things. A little bit of something for everybody. We have items that kind of anybody would be interested in.”

Yungbluth says there are several ways to donate merchandise for the auction…

“We have our poster up on our Facebook page or they can contact us through the messaging app on the Facebook. We have a couple of posts up there with the direct message line, or they can call either city hall or the fire station, either the Arnolds Park or the Okoboji City Halls. We’ll actually come up and we’ll pick it up if they have something they’d like to donate.”

Yungbluth says clerks will be set up at 12 Noon with the auction starting promptly at 1:00 pm Monday at the Barefoot Bar.
