August 24, 2022 Becky Thoreson

(Okoboji)-The Dickinson County Conservation Board will hold their biggest event of the year with The Bee & Butterfly Festival next week. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:

The Dickinson County Nature Center will host Dee’s Bee & Butterfly Festival on September 2.
Community Relations Coordinator Jackie Jerge says, the festival will feature fun activities for all ages. “We do have Parachute Fun starting off the evening and a Honey Extraction Demonstration in the middle of the evening, and then we’re topping it all off with those cute little baby goats with Miss Tammy Carr. She’s going to do a little presentation and we’ll have a little Petting Zoo. We will be doing our annual Monarch Tagging. We will have our Pollinator Crafts and various games and activities. We have some entertainment lined up, and we do have The Iowa Historical Society’s Mobile Museum coming.”
The Festival will run from 4-8 pm on Friday, September 2 at the Dickinson County Nature Center and Maser Monarch Lodge. Admission is free.
