Seasons Center To Host Free Community Drive-In Movies And Holiday Food Basket Give Aways

(Spencer)– Seasons Center for Behavioral Health will be hosting free community movie nights in Clay, Osceola and Palo Alto counties. Sarah Heinrichs, Program Support Coordinator, tells KUOO news the first will be held at 5:30 this (Fri.) evening at the Clay County Fairgrounds in Spencer…Sara Heinrichs01 

“With these events we’re providing a fun, safe and family friendly free movie experience for attendees. The movies will be drive-in style and we will be showing the movie “Trolls Tour”. We will also be offering an FM transmitter for attendees to be able to tune in on their radio.”

The movie nights will be held this (Fri. Dec. 4th) at 5:30 pm at the Clay County Fairgrounds; Saturday, Dec. 5th at 5:30 pm at Sibley-Ocheyedan High School in Sibley; and Friday, Dec. 11th at 5:30 pm at the Palo Alto County Fairgrounds in Emmetsburg.

Heinrichs says Seasons Center will also be giving away some holiday food baskets next week in Clay, Emmet, Palo Alto and Osceola counties…Sarah Heinrichs02 

“The food baskets will contain some ingredients for a holiday meal as well as other extras to have while the kids are home from school for holiday breaks. Also included in those will be vouchers for fresh meat and produce at local grocery stores.”

The food basket give aways are scheduled for Dec. 7th from 5:00 until 6:00 pm at the Seasons Center offices in Emmetsburg at 918 Broadway Street; Dec. 8th from 4:00 until 6:00 pm at Season Center’s main office in Spencer at 201 East 11th Street; Dec. 9th from 4:00 until 6:00 pm at Grandview Baptist Church in Estherville at 3705 170th Street. The baskets in Osceola county will be delivered. Seasons Center is working internally with staff to identify families in that county most in need.

Heinrichs says the programs are being made possible through funding they received from the federal CARES Act as well as from Northwest Iowa Cares Connections and County Social Services Mental Health and Disability Services Regions.
