(Spencer)– The Clay County Community Foundation is accepting applications for its upcoming grant cycle. Director Connie Goeken says completed applications must be emailed and postmarked by January 15th, 2021…
“We work primarily with 501c3 nonprofits, but also municipal units, cities, the county, are eligible to apply, or even organizations that are not necessarily the 501c3 designation but can find an organization that is to act as their fiscal sponsor. And so it really opens it up to a wide range of organizations and groups that are eligible to apply for this grant funding. We stick to primarily fund projects or events that are happening in specific areas such as arts and culture, recreational facilities, health and human services, and economic development and job creation. Those are kind of our main focuses. So as you can see there’s a wide range of opportunities for eligible grant projects.”
Grant awards will be announced in March.
Goeken expects an increased number in applications this go-round…
“We know that nonprofit organizations have suffered immensely during the pandemic and we want to make sure that we try and support as many of those as we can. We encourage people to apply for this grant money and we know that these dollars can go a long way to support our nonprofits during this difficult time.”
The Clay County Community Foundation has been in existence since 2005…
“Since that time through our grant making process we’ve given out about $1.4 million in grants to organizations here in Clay county and have leveraged millions more in matching funds.”
