(Spencer)– The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says narcotics charges have been filed against five people as the result of a drug sweep that was conducted last week.
Authorities say the arrests stem from search warrants executed on three residences and a traffic stop that resulted in the arrests of Steven Kathman and Charles Mooney, both of Spencer. Kathman was charged with possession of a controlled substance-marijuana, and possession of drug parpahernalia. Mooney was charged with driving while suspended. Both were booked into the Clay county jail. Bond for Kathman was set at 6,850-dollars; Mooney’s was set at 1,950-dollars.
Authorities say their investigation continued from there with a search warrant that was executed on a residence owned by Kenneth Versluis in Dickens. A search of Berger’s residence resulted in an additional charge of possession of a controlled substance-marijuana being filed against him. He was also booked into the Clay county jail. Bond was set at 2,275-dollars.
Authorities say that investigation led them to the residence of 28-year-old Terry Morfitt and 29-year-old Danette Little at 1809 Third Avenue West in Spencer. Little was arrested on a warrant for contempt of court. While at the residence, authorities noticed pieces of drug paraphernalia, and Morfitt was also taken into custody.
