Spencer Man Charged For Allegedly Trying To Flee Police

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A Spencer man has been arrested on several charges after trying to flee from police Monday evening.

Spencer police officers located Jesus Rodriguez around 6:00 p.m. Monday on West Third Street and were trying to serve him with two contempt of court warrants for non-payment of fines.

While speaking with the officers, Rodriguez allegedly denied his identity and tried to flee. He was quickly subdued and was taken into custody.

A search of Rodriguez turned up illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia.

In addition to the outstanding warrants, additional charges were filed against Rodriquez, including possession of cocaine; possession of marijuana; interference with official acts and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Authorities say addition charges are pending.

Rodriguez is being held in the Clay county jail on a nearly 15-thousand dollar bond.
