New Corridor Director Gets Acquainted

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– The new Director of the Corridor of Opportunity is excited about the future of the area.

Kathy Evert was hired last month as the Corridor’s new Director, in charge of sparking economic development in Clay and Dickinson counties.

Evert most recently was part of Davenport One, a downtown development corporation in Davenport, Iowa. She says her background in economic development goes back many years, including a stint in Sioux City, where she started her economic development career. That past experience, she says, prepared her well for her new job with the Corridor.

Evert says the local area has a strong employment base and a great quality of life, making the area very attractive to businesses and industries looking to expand, start up, or relocate here.

Evert began her job with the Corridor on September 19th. She replaced former Director Chad Shryock who resigned for unspecified reasons.
