North Y Crash Sends Three To The Hospital

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A two-vehicle crash near the north “Y” in Spencer Tuesday sent three people to the hospital.

The Iowa State Patrol says the mishap took place around 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 71 and Clay County Road B-19. Authorities say 46-year-old Ann Kurtz of Whittemore was westbound on B-19 when she crossed the highway into the path of a southbound vehicle driven by Sarah Fude of Spencer.

Both drivers and an infant passenger in the Fude vehicle were taken by ambulance to Spencer Hospital. All were treated and released.

Both vehicles were totalled.

Kurtz was cited for failure to yield from an intersection.

The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.
