(Spencer)– The search of a Spencer apartment Wednesday evening landed three people in jail on drug charges.
Clay county deputies received a tip from a citizen about illegal drug activities in an apartment building at 10 East Park Street in Spencer. They obtained and executed a search warrant on an apartment in that complex around 8:30 p.m.
Upon entering, deputies encountered three people along with multiple pieces of drug paraphernalia and marijuana. The search eventually turned up more marijuana, methamphetamine, a scale and 850-dollars in cash. They also discovered items believed to be stolen–including some orange county-issued pants and restaurant table numbers.
20-year-old Robert Clinkenbeard of Spencer was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and fifth degree theft. Clinkenbeard was placed in the Clay county jail with a 67-thousand dollar bond.
23-year-old Benjamin Schroeder of Spencer and Destiny Schley of Storm Lake were also arrested. They were charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at 22-hundred dollars each.
All three are being held in the Clay county jail, unable to post bond and awaiting an initial court appearance.
