(Jackson, Mn.)– The Jackson County Sheriff says the driver of a van that collided with a semi–killing a family of four–may not have stopped at a stop sign.
Sheriff Roger Hawkinson says it’s also possible the van driver stopped, but then failed to yield the right-of-way to the truck driver.
Hawkinson says the setting sun also may have been in the van driver’s eyes.
The crash happened shortly after 5:30 p.m. Saturday at an intersection near Jackson.
Killed were the van driver–34-year-old Penni Damon of Alpha and her three children.
The Sheriff says the truck driver wasn’t hurt and isn’t expected to be charged.
It’ll take to or three weeks for the State Patrol to complete its reports.
