Bridges Bay Developers Request Change In Zoning Language

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– After meeting in closed session for 45 minutes, the Dickinson county board of supervisors Tuesday voted five-to-nothing to approve a revision to the rezoning of Bridge’s Bay southeast of Arnolds Park. It deletes a provision that prevented the development from ever being voluntarily annexed into the city of Arnolds Park. The city was taking the county to court over the provision.

Earl Maahs, a Spirit Lake attorney, said the developers were requesting the provision be dropped. He says the developers now want to establish talks with the city over water service as Clay Regional Water was going to make them pay the entire cost for bringing water to the property.

Assistant County Attorney Lonnie Saunders told the supervisors he’ll work with Maahs in drawing up paperwork that will be filed with the courts asking the lawsuit be dismissed.
