(Spencer)– A Spencer woman was injured Tuesday in a traffic collision on Grand Avenue in downtown Spencer.
Spencer police say the mishap took place just before 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Grand Avenue and West Second Street. Authorities say Elizabeth Johnson of Spencer was northbound on Grand Avenue in the inside lane when she stopped to make a left turn onto West Second Street. The stoplight turned yellow and she proceeded through the intersection. A southbound vehicle driven by Yvonne Hinrichsen of Spencer was also proceeding through the yellow light and struck Johnson as she turned in front of her.
Johnson told police she thought all southbound traffic had stopped for the light so she made the left turn.
Johnson was transported by ambulance to Spencer Hospital with unknown injuries.
Neither driver was charged.
