(Estherville)– There will be a run-off election next month to select a council person in Estherville’s third ward.
None of the three candidates on the ballot Tuesday received 50 percent of the vote. The top two vote-getters were Richard Sidles with 44 and Jodi Brevik with 29. They’ll be on the ballot in the special run-off election December 6th. The third candidate was Betty Fiddler who received 27 votes.
In Estherville Ward 4, Lori Donovan beat John Hanson 51 votes to 32.
There were three other contested elections in Emmet county. In Armstrong, Brian C. Fuller, Paula Mart, and Jon Larsen won three council seats. In Ringsted, Darry Anderson and Gaylen Zeman won a four-way race for two open council seats. And in Gruver, Brent Baddeley, Robert Gommels, Anthony Hanson, Arlen J. Tirevold and Brett Gremms won seats on the city council.
