(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson county board of supervisors Tuesday approved three additional changeorders for the courthouse project totaling 27,470-dollars. They include modifications to a security elevator; changes in paint and vinyl coatings; and the addition of a fire-rated ceiling above the large courtroom. Changeorders to date total more than 218-thousand dollars…or roughly 32 percent of the 680-thousand budgeted for revisions.
On the same topic, a representative of a committee overseeing the moving of county offices reported items in the courthouse attic that have identified as being for sale are being cleaned, boxed and moved to the D-H-S offices for temporary storage until an auction is held.
In other business, the supervisors approved the hiring of Beatrice Reiter as a full-time clerk in the Treasurer’s Office at a salary of 10-dollars an hour retroactive to October 31st.
The supervisors also Tuesday accepted a letter from Don and Nancy Yarns requesting the county vacate what’s known as 270th Place in Spirit Lake Township. The gravel road and an aging bridge pass through Sandbar Beach Resort. A public hearing on the request is set for December 20th.
